        Sir / Madam, It is submitted that the Class VI JNVST 2021 is conducted in all JNVS on 10 April 2021 in one go.  Only online registration is allowed.  Hence, no offline application is to be collected.  However, the help desk will be opened in JNV to provide assistance to the Candidates and Parents at the time of registration free of cost.  

PGT Computer Science & FCSA may be involved in operating the Help Desk at all JNVS.  Principals are directed to release press note in the respective district.  You may also depute staff for wide publicity.  It should be ensured that the registration of JNVST increases at least by 15% this year compared to last year in each JNV.  




        Principals are also directed to upload details of Class VI JNVST 2021 on the websites of JNVS.  The link may be provided on the website of JNVS for online registration for JNVST 2021. The examination will be conducted on Saturday 10 April 2021 from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm.  Necessary publicity for Class VI JNVST 2021 may be given and District Administration may also be informed accordingly.  The notification may also be uploaded to the website of JNVS by providing proper links followed by insertion under news items in the media.  The website will be opened for registration on 22.10.2020 and will be closed on 15.12.2020.  The detailed notification is also being emailed in PDF format.  As above

1.0 Notification 

    Online applications are invited from eligible students for admission to Class XI against the vacant seats likely to be available in JNVs during the academic year 2020-21.  Admission will be made on the basis of the performance of students in Class X Board Examinations by CBSE / State Education other recognized Board.  



2.0 Objectives 


        The main objectives of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti as set forth in the Memorandum of Association are: 

     To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas, regardless of their family's socio-economic condition, To ensure that all students of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti attain a reasonable level of competence in three languages ​​as envisaged in Three Language Formula.  

To serve, in each district, as a focal point for improvement in the quality of school education in general, through sharing of experiences and facilities, and To promote national integration through migration of students from Hindi to non-Hindi speaking State and vice-versa.

3.0 Salient Features of Navodaya Scheme

 3.1 Good quality modern education for talented children predominantly from rural areas. 

3.2 Co-educational and fully residential, up to Class-XII.

 3.3 Location – usually in rural areas. 

3.4 Free education including boarding and lodging as well as expenses on Uniforms, Text Books, and Stationery, etc. 

3.5 Affiliated to CBSE. 

3.6 Admission in Class-VI only through objective type test designed and conducted in the concerned district. 

3.7 Implementation of Three-Language Formula

3.8 The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to class VIII and thereafter English for Maths & Science and Hindi/English for Social Science. Students of JNVs appear for board examinations of CBSE. 

3.9  30% of students in Class-IX from a Vidyalaya located in Hindi speaking area spend one the academic year in a Vidyalaya in a non-Hindi speaking area and vice versa to promote national integration through understanding of the diversity and plurality of country’s culture and people.
 4.0 Eligibility 

4.1 Date of Birth of the candidate is to be between 1st June 2002 to 31st May 2006 (both days inclusive). This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

 4.2 The candidate must have passed Class X from a recognized school (affiliated to CBSE or any other State Education / other recognized Board) of the State where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located during the academic session 2019-20.
