Plan

                     N.M.M.S. Is a centrally sponsored scheme undertaken by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD). The Government of India provides scholarships to 100,000 distinguished students, whose parental income from all sources is Rs. Not more than 1,50,000 / -. NMMS exam is taken for students studying in 8th class. N.M.M.S. Scholarships are given to the students selected in the examination of and passed in the eighth class from the ninth standard to the twelfth standard. This scholarship is for government school children only.

    Scholarship

             The state of Rajasthan has an allotted quota of 5471 scholarships. Students selected under this scheme will be given Rs. 500 per month for four years.

Procedure for selection

1. NMMS examination is conducted for students studying in class VIII.

2. The method of paper is as follows-

General class students must have at least 40% marks (including M.A.T. and S.A.T. overall) to pass the exam and have to pass ST. And S.C. No students should have 32% marks. There are no negative marks.

Eligibility

This is for government school students only.

Only students who have scored at least 55% (General) and 50% (SC / ST) in 7th standard can take part in the examination.

The annual income of the parents is Rs. 150000 / -

The examination is held on the second Sunday of November every year.

In the year 2014-15, a total of 10470 students appeared for the examination and 4807 have been selected.

The student should be studying in government schools from ninth standard to twelfth standard.

For general students the marks of ninth standard are 55% and in standard ten they should get at least 60% marks. There is a discount for %% marks for SC / ST candidates.

Students should open an account with SBI / SBBJ Bank.

Students who receive scholarships must have their own ADDHAR card.

The principal will have to send the list of eligible students there with all the proper requirements to their DEO 

  • The National Resource-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) scheme has been implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) for the purpose of locating poor gifted students and getting financial assistance to continue their education.

Examination: Candidates are not required to pay any examination fee.

  • Stage-I: For the selection of a certain number of candidates for the National Level Examination (State Quota), the State has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Freight Tire Screening Examination known as the State Level Talent Search Examination.
  • State-II: National level talent search examination is conducted by NCERT for the candidates selected by Stage-1.

Examination Fee: Candidates are not required to pay any examination fee.

  • Eligibility: Students studying in 8th standard in government, government aided or local body schools are eligible to appear for the NMMS examination.

They must obtain at least a% marks% marks (comfortable for a class reserved by%) and pass the annual examination of the standard.

  • From all sources, her parents' income was Rs. 1, 50, 000 / - (one lakh fifty thousand rupees) only annually. Government residential schools like Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and residential schools under SC / ST Development Department, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik Schools, KGBV etc., where the expenses are paid by the government, are not eligible under this scheme.

Course: There is no fixed syllabus for NMMS exam. However, the question will be asked on the basis of Class V and V V syllabus.

  • Odisha State Quota: A total of 33,114 scholarships are distributed in 30 (thirty) districts. Scholarships are reserved for SC, ST, OBC / SEBC and physically challenged candidates.

Exam Subject: There are two papers in NMMS exam.

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT): Includes 90 multiple choice items on logic and critical thinking to answer in M0 minutes. Questions will be on analogy, classification, statistical range, pattern, perceptron, hidden statistics, etc. Complete mark is 90 and students will have to answer all the questions.
  • School Sticks Aptitude Test (SAT): Includes 90 multiple choice items on subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science, History, Political Science, Geography and Economics. The full mark is 90 and students have to answer all the questions.
  • Scholarship: Selected Candidates @ Rs. 1000 (Rs. One thousand) per month for four years only subject to satisfactory academic performance of candidates from class-9 to 12 and their continuity in eligible class institutions. NMMS exam
